Pediatric Check-up

There are many stages children go through in their dental development. We are here each step of the way to help them maintain a healthy smile and avoid dental issues down the road. It is recommended that children see their dentist at least twice a year for a dental check-up. At a regular check-up, we can answer questions you may have, clean your child’s teeth and remove any plaque or tartar buildup. Their dentist will look for any signs of decay or infection and recommend treatment if needed. By catching dental problems while they are small, it can save your child from extensive dental treatment. Sedation dentistry is available to help your child relax if treatment is needed. Your child’s dentist can also give you information concerning their teeth alignment and give you insight on the best orthodontic treatment when your child is old enough.

Preventative Care

You can help your child prevent tooth decay and other dental problems by teaching them good oral habits at home. Brushing at least twice a day and flossing daily is recommended. Regular dental check-ups will also help your child’s smile stay on the right track. Other preventive treatments include dental sealants and fluoride treatments. Dental sealants coat the back of your child’s teeth to protect them from decay. Sealants last for many years once applied. Fluoride treatments are used to strengthen your child’s teeth and may be recommended during a regular check-up.
