July 2024 Update: New dentist did great. I'm glad Dr Hughes found a good one. The dental practice is great and seeing them struggle to find the right replacement dentist was hard but I think they may have gotten it right this time.

Update April 2024: I have been informed this dentist that I had trouble with is no longer there. I went back for my crowns and Dr Hughes was great & very professional. I am impressed with the this company and its dedication to feedback from their customers. Not only would I recommend them but I’ll be going back myself. March 2024: So this was my first time using Hughes Dental Group in Leo because it’s where my insurance was excepted. The hygienist was very friendly but quick and didn’t get stains off like my old hygienist used to. She seemed like she was rushed. The chair was broke too. The dentist came In barely looked at my teeth and said you need two crowns. His bedside manner needed some work. He never introduced himself just came in. During the crown prep my assistant seemed spacey and didn’t have much personality. The Dentist during the procedure was rushing and I barely could breathe at one point. The assistant was staying up on suctioning so I had to keep swallowing. The Dentist then told me he was tired of fighting my tongue and the it was like working on a moving target. He was rude and I just felt like he lacked that small town friendly feel. I was nervous as it was and he didn’t hep ease that by any means . I was uncomfortable in the chair and told the assistant that had me basically laid all the way back and feet above my head. She told me the doctor prefers it that way but never brought me back up. My heart was racing and it just wasn’t a good experience. Now the work they did wasn’t bad. I have had worse. They also quoted me two different prices each time. I guess the only way I’d choose them again is if it was the only place my insurance company would allow. You may want to choose elsewhere.
